The "BB" of these practical ECTIVE devices stands for "Battery Booster". This is a special type of battery charger: Charge Boosters allow you to fully charge your on-board battery while driving. Whether you're heading to your next destination in a motorhome, caravan or boat, you don't have to worry about finding a shore power connection first thing upon arrival. Instead, with a full supply battery, you can use your consumers immediately.

Tap into your alternator!
The alternator is an electrical generator in your vehicle that is driven by the combustion engine and thus provides electrical power for the starter battery and consumers. Depending on the driving time and state of charge, your starter battery will be fully charged at some point. With a charge booster, you ensure that the energy that continues to be generated is not wasted, but can instead be used to charge the supply battery - with maximum precision and efficiency. In this battery-to-battery process, where the 12-volt starter battery is used to charge a 12-volt supply battery, the charge booster constantly monitors both batteries. In this way, the starter battery is not discharged and the supply battery is also protected from overcharging.

The ECTIVE SBB charge boosters also have an integrated MPPT solar charge controller with high efficiency. This means that the supply battery will continue to be charged with the help of your solar modules even if you interrupt your journey or arrive at your destination.

As soon as your supply battery is fully charged or in a state of trickle charge, the excess solar energy, with a maximum of 5A charging current, is also fed into your starter battery. This function ensures that the start of your vehicle is possible even after long periods of standstill.

Especially for long journeys in "Nomad Style" a charge booster is a real must-have, which allows you even more flexibility and more secluded destinations.
