For more than 40 years, general practitioner Dr. Walter Rose has traveled the world, whether as a ship's doctor, on humanitarian missions or privately.
Brief description
This OutdoorHandbook consists of two parts. In the first part, the reader is given help in preparing for the trip: What dangers await him in the health sector, and how can illnesses be avoided or minimized once they occur? This includes information on common infectious diseases, necessary or unnecessary vaccinations, and treatment of pain, fever, etc.
The second part is dedicated to acute illnesses and is a health guide for on the road. Particular emphasis is placed on recognizing the respective illness on the basis of symptoms. Where possible, space is given to non-medicinal treatment. Each chapter is assigned the appropriate medication with information on the most common side effects and dosage. A detailed list of medications with the corresponding non-proprietary names completes the second part.
