Product description
The batteries are monitored internally by a specially adapted battery management system (BMS). The operation of inverters, even with higher output power, is possible without any problems. The battery housing of the MT LI 85 and MT LI 105 used by us corresponds to the dimensions of the battery box of previous GEL/AGM batteries used in many touring vehicles.
Thus it is possible to install these batteries in an existing standard bracket and by the used round poles, the already mounted cables can be simply put on.
The lithium power battery is a storage system of the future that has been further developed by Büttner Elektronik. Fast and complete charging while driving by booster and BCB has been considered as well as optimal charging by our solar systems , whose regulation can be set to lithium operation.
The discharge currents of these battery types are adapted accordingly, so that larger consumers can be operated or high capacities can be stored and kept available. The specially adapted battery management system (BMS) monitors the batteries internally and makes it possible, even when only one on-board battery is used, to use a larger inverter to operate a powerful coffee machine or a hairdryer with 2,000 watts.
The battery terminals on these two versions are designed with M8 threads, so the connections can be screwed on directly. Round terminals are also available on request, which are also screwed on.
Tips and information
Always the right battery
We have not only designed our LiFePO4 on-board batteries for motorhomes and their special requirements. We also took into account the dimensions and ground mounting. It doesn't help if the battery is too tall and doesn't fit under the space provided by the manufacturer. It should also be possible to mount the battery properly using the mounting points provided. For this reason, we use the standard housings for the MT LI 85 and MT LI 105, in which AGM and gel batteries are also installed. The connection poles are also identical, making the conversion easy. The MT LI 120 and MT LI 180 are housed in sturdy and very compact battery boxes. The connection is made here via M8 screw connections.
Higher storage capacity
Do not be surprised that with the same case dimensions in LiFePO4 batteries apparently less or only similarly much current capacity is present than with comparable AGM or gel batteries. This is quickly put into perspective by the fact that only in the case of the LiFePO4 battery is the completely printed amount of current (Ah) actually available. This value decreases only insignificantly even if higher amounts of current are drawn in a short time (inverter, coffee machine, etc.).
When is it worthwhile to convert to LiFePO4 batteries?
We have been asked this question more and more often in recent years. As with the similar question 25 years ago on the subject of "solar technology", I would like to answer provocatively today.
not at all. Not for most of us, anyway. The argument that this battery will last 10 years or more is impressive, but it's really only a selling point if the vehicle is driven for that long itself. Converting it into a new vehicle is a nice idea, but in the end very few people do it. No, the argument for a LiFePO4 battery must be a completely different one.
The motorhome is my hobby. I want to be on the road with it and charge my batteries quickly with a booster, even on short trips. I have my coffee maker with me and maybe I'll take a household appliance or two. When my wife is blow drying, I don't want to worry about whether it takes her 5 minutes or even 10. I want to have my completely stored battery capacity at my disposal. Whether the investment in a battery technology is worthwhile is not my topic, because I did not ask myself this question when I bought my motorhome. I like to be carefree on the road, have a working system of solar, booster and lithium battery and that's fine.
What can I run?
Even with the smallest version (MT LI 85) it is possible to operate a Nespresso coffee machine or a hair dryer up to 1,200 watts with an inverter (e.g. MT 1200SI/SI-N). Already with the MT LI 105 inverters up to 1.700 Watt can be used and with the two batteries with 120 Ah and 180 Ah consumers (hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, coffee machine etc.) up to 2.000 Watt are no problem.
However, even with LiFePO4 batteries, it is recommended that the battery capacity is not too small in relation to the on-board consumers.

Please note: since our deliveries may contain batteries (single-use and rechargeable),
according to the German Law on Batteries (BattG) we must advise you of the following:
single-use and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of along with domestic waste, but rather you are legally required to return used batteries. Used batteries may contain damaging substances which, if not stored or disposed of appropriately, may damage the environment or your health. Batteries may, however, also contain important raw materials, such as, for example, iron, zion, magnesium or nickel, which can be recycled. Once used, you may either send the batteries back to us, or return them in
your vicinity (e.g. at the shop, communal recycling points or at our expedition warehouse) - free of charge. When returning used batteries to points of sale, the quantity you are allowed to return is limited to the quantity typical for a single end user, and to those batteries which the seller offers or used to offer in their product range.
The symbol with a rubbish bin crossed out means that you must not dispose of single-use and rechargeable batteries
