How long do pressure reducers or gas controls last?
Pressure reducers or gas controls have a production date on the casing. After 10 years (if no faults were visible before) they should be replaced. In caravans and mobile homes, they must be replaced every 10 years . This is usually done together with the gas test.
How often do gas hoses need to be replaced?
Gas hoses, gas controls and everything related to gas that is installed in the vehicle must be checked by a specialist every 2 years. This is the so-called gas test. Here, all parts such as gas valves, hose couplings, high-pressure hoses or, for example, the Duo Control are tested for function, tightness and durability.
GOK gas hoses have a tag on them that tells you how long they are recommended for use, usually 10 years. The year of production is printed on the gas hoses from TGO and Truma. However, you should check the gas hoses every now and then. In the event of corrosion or a leak, the gas hose must of course be replaced immediately.
30mb or 50mb, how much pressure do I actually need?
30mb or 50mb, pressure reducers and gas hoses are designed for this. But why? In Germany, everything that happens outside in terms of gas is supplied with 50mb. If the garden barbecue, 2-flame cooker or similar is connected directly to the gas bottle with a gas hose and gas control, then in Germany this must always be 50mb.
However, the newer gas installations in mobile homes and caravans are always 30mb. The gas control, gas cooker, the absorber, everything in the camper is designed for 30mb. For example, if you want to barbecue outside and your vehicle has a gas socket outside, but only then, outdoor cooking is also allowed with 30mb. Older campers often still have a 50mb gas system installed. That's OK, the vehicle may continue to be driven with the 50mb system.
