Locks & Door Protection
A security lock or door lock protects your mobile home or caravan from break-ins and theft. You can find burglary protection here from various manufacturers such as Heosolution, Fiamma, Thitronik and Thule.
Whether you're on a camping holiday in Germany or travelling throughout Europe: Unfortunately, burglaries in mobile homes and caravans can happen anywhere. You should also be prepared for the theft of the entire camping vehicle or caravan.
What types of additional locks are there?
For mobile homes and panel vans, there are different additional locks for front doors and body doors or sliding doors. A distinction is made between
- Security locks that replace the original door lock as well as
- Security bolts that are fitted in addition to the door lock.
For theft protection on the caravan, you will find trailer anti-theft devices such as the Egg of Columbus from HP and the HABA cylinder mortise lock for Alko overrun heads. With these draw bar locks, you can prevent thieves from hitching up your caravan.
Security locks with standardised locking system
Most security locks for mobile homes and caravans can be locked with a key. Heosolution offers a standardised locking system called Heo System. This allows several Heosafe security locks to be unlocked and locked with one key.
Security bolt protects against burglary
When it comes to the security of your mobile home or caravan, you need to distinguish between theft protection and burglary protection. With a door safety lock, you can make sure that burglars can't get into your camping vehicle in the first place. Fiamma Safe Door and Thule Door Lock are solid door bolts that are attached to the body door from the outside. The massive door bolts have a deterrent effect on burglars. Furthermore, the additional door locks prevent the body door from being broken open. We have the Thule Van Lock security lock in our range especially for panel vans and camping buses with sliding doors.
How are security locks installed in a mobile home or caravan?
Security locks are firmly screwed to the camping vehicle. Due to the stable mounting, the additional locks also withstand enormous forces. In the area of the driver's doors of mobile homes and campers, existing screws or fastening points are often used to install a deadbolt lock. At the body door, the additional lock is screwed to the side panel of the motor home or caravan via a counter plate. If the mounting space for the Fiamma and Thule safety latches is blocked by cabinets, you can use the Frame mounting adapter.
