This is a rubber outsole designed by Lowa with an application-specific tread design made from an optimized rubber compound. The advantage of a rubber outsole is its good grip. Cold, icy or snowy surfaces: no problem for the Lowa AL-S V. Good grip is guaranteed thanks to the multidirectional edge alignment of the treads, a specially developed winter rubber compound and a light heel edge.

Double Injection
The upper and sole form a single unit. For effective cushioning and a high level of comfort, the sole of the Calceta EvoGTX Ws is connected to the upper using a technically complex injection process. The upper shoe is placed in a specially manufactured mold. PU foam is then inserted into the mold in different layers. This creates the sole, which bonds directly with the upper to form a single unit.

Support Frame
Comfortably framed. n the Calceta Evo GTX Ws model, the midsole in the form of the Lowa Monowrap frame ensures optimum comfort. This is a three-dimensional midsole design developed by Lowa in 1995. This frame comfortably encloses the foot and supports it on uneven surfaces. In shoes with a SUPPORT FRAME, the sole construction is slightly raised.

DYNAPU

Woman Last
Adapted to the anatomy of women's feet. To ensure an optimal fit, the last of the Calceta Evo GTX Ws is specially adapted to the female anatomy. The last is largely responsible for ensuring that the shoe fits well. As women's feet have a smaller volume, the instep height and ball circumference are adjusted, for example.

Sole
When winter shows its best side outside, the Lowa AL-S IV is in its element. The sole shines with a winter-ready lug profile and a tried-and-tested TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) compound.

Midsole: 100% polyurethane (PU)
Polyurethane (PU) is a soft plastic that has very good cushioning properties and is therefore usually used in the midsole. The PU content makes the soles light and flexible in their function.

Insole: approx. 5% aluminum foil, approx. 10% perforated polyethylene, approx. 50% polyethylene and approx. 35% fleece
Alufoil or aluminum foil is the name for a thin foil that is produced by rolling the raw material aluminum. The airtight aluminum foil is usually used as an insulating layer in insoles, which acts against the cold from below and keeps the heat in the shoe. Due to its structure, our perforated polyethylene enables greater air circulation.

Polyethylene is a semi-crystalline and non-polar thermoplastic that is by far the most commonly used plastic in the world. Polyethylene is used, among other things, as a component of synthetic fiber blended fabrics in insoles, where it is primarily used for comfort and to insulate the foot from the ground. Nonwovens are a structure made of fibers of limited length, continuous fibers or cut yarns. As a component/cover layer of footbeds, the nonwoven layer stores the heat emitted by the foot and makes it comfortable to wear even in cold temperatures.

Upper material: approx. 60% and suede approx. 40% textile
The suede corresponds to the underside of the skin and is characterized by a loose fibre structure, which results in a velvety surface and a light pile. Due to its rough texture, suede is particularly hard-wearing and open-pored. Depending on the desired look, suede can be left untreated or oiled or waxed. Thanks to their application-specific properties, our natural and synthetic textiles enable optimum heat and moisture management. Due to their structural composition, they are supple and ensure that our products are extremely comfortable to wear.

Lining material: 100% Gore-Tex
Shoes equipped with a GORE-TEX membrane are reliably waterproof, windproof and breathable.

Construction method
Injected construction. For optimum cushioning and comfort, the sole of LOWA multifunctional shoes is directly injected. This is a complex injection molding process that directly connects the knitted upper with the sole. As a result, the shoes have optimum cushioning and are particularly lightweight.
