For radio listeners the DDX4019DAB offers great possibilities: In addition to the very good receiver for analogue FM broadcasting, a digital radio tuner for DAB+ is integrated. This not only multiplies the number of receivable stations, but also significantly increases the sound quality. The signals of the two receivers are buffered in the unit to enable uninterrupted switching between DAB and FM ("Seamless Blending").

The DAB+ tuner receives the extensive range of digitally broadcast radio programmes even at high speeds free from noise, crackling and level fluctuations - and not only in Germany, because DAB programmes are now available in many other European countries. All available DAB stations can be selected directly from a list shown in the radio display. And if a sufficiently strong DAB signal is not available, the tuner automatically switches to the appropriate FM frequency without audible interruption. Seamless Blending", an intelligent data buffer, ensures seamless crossfades without annoying level and time offsets.

Bluetooth hands-free car kit

The Bluetooth module allows safe and comfortable telephoning while driving. The voice quality is ensured by the external microphone and a sophisticated sound processing with suppression of echo and background noise. Especially practical is the possibility to couple two telephones at the same time and operate them in parallel. With the new "Kenwood Music Mix" function even up to 5 phones can be connected in parallel for music playback. When streaming audio via A2DP, the AVRCP 1.5 profile with extended control and search functions including display of title, artist, album, etc. is used. Thanks to touch menus, the operation of all Bluetooth functions is child's play, access to the phone book of the mobile phone is possible as well as the callback function.

Spotify Control

Kenwood "Spotify Control" allows you to control all essential Spotify functions via the moniceiver's touch screen. This allows you to scroll through the Spotify playlists, albums, tracks and artists, or search for genres and other information. If Spotify is already installed on the smartphone, the iPhone or Android phone is connected to the Kenwood moniceiver via Bluetooth and the Spotify app* is started on the smartphone. Afterwards, the Spotify service can be easily operated via the large touch screen of the Kenwood Moniceiver.

DSP with digital time correction

The diverse digital audio functions of the Kenwood moniceivers help to ideally implement the brilliant sound of the 24-bit D/A converter even under difficult acoustic conditions in the car. In addition to a 13-band equalizer or a digital active crossover, features such as "Stage EQ" help to make music playback in the car as realistic and true to the original as possible. In addition, the digital sound processor enables a runtime correction for the correct time of music playback and can be set individually for each channel.

Easy Pairing and Voice Control

Thanks to the "Easy Pairing" routine, the first-time pairing of a smartphone for both iPhone and Android is completely problem-free and is initially performed once via USB cable. Once this process is completed, the smartphone is added to the pairing list and from then on automatically connected to the moniceiver. The voice control engines of many current smartphones that can be used with the Kenwood moniceivers are also very practical. Via the corresponding menu icon on the Kenwood device the voice control of the smartphone can be activated and accepts voice commands.

Adjustable viewing angle

The fast-reacting 6.2' high-gloss touch panel has a screen diagonal of 15.7cm and displays a particularly clear, high-contrast image. To ensure optimum readability even in bright sunshine or at difficult installation angles, the contrast and brightness distribution of the display can be adjusted in five stages according to the viewing angle. In this way, the on-screen menus are always displayed with particularly rich black and good contrast.
