Caratec Audio CAS212S sound system for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter S907/910 with 7" MBUX with navigation and 10" MBUX with or without navigation. The active Caratec Plug & Play sound system consists of a compact amplifier (6-channel) with integrated digital signal processor (DSP) and a subwoofer. The amplifier optimizes the sound of the speakers present in the vehicle and drives the powerful subwoofer. This creates a completely new and convincing sound experience in the blink of an eye. Due to the subwoofer and the relief of the originally installed speakers from low frequencies, a much clearer, lively sound image is created. Speech intelligibility is also significantly improved. This results in music enjoyment even at low volumes. Any existing loudspeakers in the living area are driven by the amplifier via a high-pass filter with optimized frequency response. As a result, these speakers also sound more dynamic than before. A possibly existing center speaker is disconnected, the sound setup of the sound system tuned to the vehicle leads to a better sound.

The plug & play wiring harness for the MBUX plugs allows connection and installation in a very short time; separate connections to the vehicle are not required. The subwoofer is usually mounted under the passenger seat or the driver's seat. If there is no space there, it is also possible to mount it in another place (e.g. behind the driver's seat instead of the cover). If necessary, a 2m extension cable CAZ100L is optionally available.

Caratec's sound systems use digital amplifiers to drive the vehicle's loudspeakers and also offer a dedicated subwoofer. On the one hand, the standard speakers are relieved because they only have to play in their original frequency ranges and are relieved of bass reproduction - that alone gives significantly better sound quality. On the other hand, the control is carried out with considerably more power. The total power is 180 watts (sine wave) or 360 watts (music). This is made possible by a high-tech amplifier with a circuit board that is just half the size of a postcard.

The high-pass filter ensures a lower lower cut-off frequency and higher maximum sound pressure with reduced distortion.
