Systems cancel each other out, the logical consequence is to combine the two energy sources. However, it is not sufficient to simply install both systems in parallel without system control. In that case, the fuel cell would also start up, even though the solar system produces sufficient electricity under the current weather conditions. The hybrid autarkic system from BÜTTNER ELEKTRONIK and EFOY, which optimally exploits the advantages of both systems, ensures that sufficient power is always available on board.

The system is controlled by a HYBRID battery computer MT-H. It decides if and when the fuel cell is switched on. Among other things, it takes into account the power consumed, the battery capacity and the prevailing weather conditions. The complete solar systems are operated with one (MT 130 H) or two (MT 260-2 H) MT 130 power module(s) in conjunction with a state-of-the-art MPP solar controller. The MT 130 H system is ideally suited for small to medium-sized vehicles or boats, while the MT 260-2 H guarantees optimum charging performance even for larger vehicles that are in use all year round.
