Product description
Büttner LiFePO4 Vehicle Battery
Lithium high-performance battery for high discharge currents, specially designed for mobile homes. High cycle stability and storage capacity combined with low weight characterise our LiFePO4 vehicle batteries. A specially tuned battery management system (BMS) monitors the batteries internally. Operating inverters is easy, even with higher output power. The battery case used by us for the MT LI 80 and MT LI 95 corresponds to the dimensions of the battery box used in many motorhomes of previous GEL/AGM batteries. It is therefore possible to install these batteries in an existing standard bracket and the round poles allow the pre-mounted cables to be easily placed. The lithium-power battery is a storage system of the future that has been further developed by BÜTTNER ELEKTRONIK. Fast and full charge while driving thanks to the booster and BCB has been taken into account, as well as the optimal charge through our solar systems, whose control can be set to lithium operation. We have also designed the MT lithium-power batteries in the 110 Ah and 180 Ah versions for motorhome requirements. The discharge currents are adapted accordingly for these types of batteries. Larger consumers can therefore be operated and high capacities can be stored and retained. The battery management system (BMS), which is specially tuned here, internally monitors the batteries and, even when just one vehicle battery is being used, allows the use of a larger inverter to operate a powerful coffee machine or a 2,000-watt hairdryer. in these two versions, the battery poles are designed with M8 thread, so that the connections can be screwed on directly. Round poles are also available on request, which are also screwed on.
Suitable for ...
- high cyclic loads in motorhome and marine use
- Solar systems and inverter operation
- stationary systems
Useful information on the lithium battery technology LiFePO4
The battery technology of the future - a critical perspective
It is considered as the pioneering battery technology and - in light of the following considerations - it probably is. But let's talk about whether the benefits of lithium battery technology for the motorhome driver are as big as people say. Specialist journals discussed the subject of LiFePO4 batteries many times in their various publications last year. Based on the technical data, it was clear that this battery outperformed any vehicle battery that had come before in terms of weight. The fact that these benefits came at a high price was much less of an issue. They even performed comparative calculations to see which battery type was the cheapest over the entire service life. The LiFePO4 battery always came out on top. The critical reader will also notice that the projections are all based on manufacturer information. At the moment, we - as well as the editors - are not in a position to realistically evaluate what these are worth because - as with any relatively new battery technology - there are no long-term findings. One thing is clear: at current retail prices, the price is only worth it if the batteries last as long as is claimed.
Extremely high life expectancy
It is interesting that the estimated life expectancy, depending on the manufacturer, varies extremely between 2000 and 5000 cycles at the same load. The question that arises: some are conservative and set their aims low, while others predict that their battery will last almost 14 years with almost complete discharge on a daily basis.
Fast charge while driving
In theory, this is no problem. The generator (alternator) is designed to realise very high currents even during idling. In practice, this will work with Euro 6 vehicles and with many Euro 5 vehicles, but not others. These vehicles are predominantly equipped with a cargo management system. This means that the alternator simply shuts off completely, depending on the voltage level of the starter battery, regardless of the state of charge of the vehicle battery. In push mode, some current comes back or when a larger consumer loads the starter battery. This charge problem, of course, is relevant to all battery types, not only for LiFePO4.

Note
Please note: since our deliveries may contain batteries (single-use and rechargeable),
according to the German Law on Batteries (BattG) we must advise you of the following:
single-use and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of along with domestic waste, but rather you are legally required to return used batteries. Used batteries may contain damaging substances which, if not stored or disposed of appropriately, may damage the environment or your health. Batteries may, however, also contain important raw materials, such as, for example, iron, zion, magnesium or nickel, which can be recycled. Once used, you may either send the batteries back to us, or return them in
your vicinity (e.g. at the shop, communal recycling points or at our expedition warehouse) - free of charge. When returning used batteries to points of sale, the quantity you are allowed to return is limited to the quantity typical for a single end user, and to those batteries which the seller offers or used to offer in their product range.
The symbol with a rubbish bin crossed out means that you must not dispose of single-use and rechargeable batteries
along with the domestic waste. Underneath this symbol you will also find the following symbols which have the following
meanings:
Pb: battery contains lead
Cd: battery contains cadmium
Hg: battery contains mercury
